Singapore Airlines to reopen Singapore – New York route!

Singapore Airlines has announced that it will re-launch the non-stop Singapore to New York route when they receive their first Airbus A350-900 ultra longrange aircrafts in 2018.

Singapore Airlines is the launch costumer for the new Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft with a range of up to 8,700 nautical miles! With delivery of the first aircraft in 2018 Singapore Airlines will re-open the world’s longest non-stop flight from Singapore to New York (8,288 nautical miles, 9,537 miles, 15,349 kilometers distance).

 

With the re-opening of non-stop flight’s to the US Singapore Airlines is responding to customer demand’s to do so. 
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong is pleased that Airbus was able to was able to offer the right aircraft to do so in a commercially viable manner. Their hub in Singapore will also be strengthened by this move since passengers get convenient and fast connections between the US and Southeast Asia without stop-over somewhere else.

 

Singapore Airlines has concurrently placed 63 firm orders on Airbus A350-900s – with 7 being upgraded to the ultra long haul variant. Furthermore Singapore has the option to purchase 20 more A350-900 aircraft’s.

The new A350 aircraft will be fitted with all-new cabin products, currently under development.
