TRIP REPORT: Flying Onboard Air France’s Brand New Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from London Heathrow (LHR) to Paris CDG Airport in Economy Class!
Get an awesome insight on the new product Air France will offer on their longhaul flights operated by their new fleet of Dreamliners – featuring the new Cabin and Seats as well as the Inflight Service (even on this 50 minute flight to Paris!).
Airline: Air France
Aircraft: Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (First for Air France – F-HRBA)
Class: Economy Class
Route: London Heathrow to Paris CDG
Flight time: 1h
A little story: The day before i flew to London via Amsterdam with KLM – booked on 737-900 and Fokker 70. First flight was delayed because of strike in Berlin and the aircraft was changed to 737-800. The delay also made me miss my first Fokker 70 flight! So i got rebooked onto a normal 737-700 flight to London.
The next morning – awaiting my Air France 787-9 Dreamliner flight – there was something wrong with my booking – somehow the status went to unconfirmed and i was no longer booked on the flight to Paris and Berlin.
They told me all flights from Paris to Berlin are full – so they offered my a return flight via Amsterdam with KLM.
Obviously I didn’t want that because I only booked the trip to test the new Air France product! They then found a seat on the last flight from Paris to Berlin and I took it – also I got the last window seat on the 787-9 which was 16A!
Well – even though I had to wait 8h in Paris I reached Berlin in the end and got to fly the Dreamliner 😉 All in all pretty sad that only 1 of 4 flights went as planned -.-
